  • i have had at 6 bottles of the case i purchased. although i am die hard follower of the cain five wines, i have found their syrah to be somewhat just okay. it has nice depth and color, but compared to the other cal syrahs out there for the same price-point, ie. copain, alban, cayuse (washington) and a host of others, i felt this was just okay. the aroma of berries and graphite is great , but the finish is just not one you wold expect from an estate label such as cain. none the less- i think it is good syrah.. just not a kongsgaard or a pax or a sine qua non.. hence the price..
