A fine magnum shared with friends at dinner. Really needed air and some agitation and time to open up then beautiful!

One of the best AM reserves I've had in while. At its peak now, so drink in the next 12 months. Surprisingly earthy and complex. Very full bodied yet no over-the-top notes, no too high acid or alcohol, just a syrah that is obviously from the best barrels of very good vintage. The balance is perfect, the flavors are more earthy-smokey-forest floor and that's why I think it's peaked, but the balance is so nice and it's so full bodied that it comes off as near perfect.
