This is the penultimate bottle of my case and I think it has just about got to the end of its tasting window. The first bottle was oxidised. The second bottle was better. As before, it takes at least an hour to open up and lose that initial unpleasant nose and slightly metallic taste. Once opened, it's good enough, but not much fruit left. Yes, I think I've left these last few bottles too long. One more left, will open soon and expect to be similar.

Bright garnet colour. Decanted, a little cloudy but no sediment. Still good berry fruit, quite light on the palate, quite short. Pleasant enough, maybe needs time to breathe. I see my previous note says breathe for 1 hour so I'd best do that now!

It is essential to let this wine breathe for at least one hour and preferably to decant. This is because the initial nose is a little unpleasant with no fruit. However, be patient and let it breathe and the lovely grenache and mourvedre style fruits show through and it becomes a very attractive wine. The tannins become balanced and the overall wine becomes well balanced. I enjoyed with a Rhone enthusiast who confirmed his approval once the wine had breathed sufficiently.

The last bottle of the case. This had kept marginally better than the previous two. Still had some nice fruit and it lasted an hour in the glass.
