Chocolate, leather, cherries and blackberries in the elegant and concentrated bouquet. In the taste the same impressions esp. chocolate. Some sweetness as well. Sensual.

California tasting @ Restaurant Savelberg (Netherlands): Tight, classic mouthfeel. Like that. Bitter chocolate, blackberries and cherries. Good focus, majestic wine. Regal stature, vanillapods, dash of coconut, toast and smoke, luxurious oak gives this wine an expensive feel. 18-18.5/20

ERI California Pre-Release Tasting (Balena - Chicago IL): Tasting. 50% Cabernet, 24% Merlot, 26% Cab Franc. Rich fruit with alluring spicy aromas, hints of perfume. Evolving flavors showing dark berry, cocoa, coffee, licorice, clove. Better in another 2-5 years. Best of the three vintages of David tasted (1999-2001).

No score. Tight, decant minimum 2 hours...not ready to go yet, well at least at this time. No dusty Rutherford nuance...
