oxidation has gone from mild to moderate since the last review. From magnum. Browning on the edges, but still with pleasant fruit and no puniness. Drink.

Delicious, the 777 clone is my favorite Pinot Noir clone. It has an intensity not found in other clones. This bottle is at peak or just past peak for this troublesome vintage year. Perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days and softened significantly on day two. Ruby red in color with minor oxidation. Aromas of rose hips and strawberry. Flavors of bright bing cherry and forest floor with a slightly sour medium finish. Slightly more acidic than fruity, but pairs well with grilled salmon. The winemaker, Ben Papapietro suggested drinking all the 2010s over four years ago, but this 777 has done well with additional bottle age. I still have three more of the vintage in the cellar, so I will revisit soon to confirm this tasting note. Great fruit and winemaking.

Not what I was expecting from this producer, this was much closer to a burgundy-style than what I usually expect from Papapietro (not that this is a bad thing, at all). Bright fruits, spices, good acidity.

An element of lushness and cherry fruit first, but almost immediately transitions to an intense sourness. Somewhat linear, but the sourness is profound and delicious.
After two hours, it has softened somewhat and the lushness has gained more ground, but it's still sourness-driven. This wine should be great with food.

Beautiful purple color. Light on the fruit--cranberry and sour cherry. Heavy on the baking spices, even a bit of 5-spice. Light oak finish. Not a bad wine, but shows why you want to blend a couple of different clones for a fuller profile.
