I agree with many of the previous reviewers - this is certainly different! Which is something I do not often say about Chardonnay (my favourite grape variety). A mix of egg custard and cordite on the nose with flinty overtones to the melon fruit on the palate with a slight rasp to the finish. Best as a food wine in this case chicken pie

Really interesting wine. A nose off smooth caramel & whiskey.
Dry spicy palate. Had it open for a week and it's holding together perfectly. Pairs brilliantly with salty adobo beef. Also works with coriander heavy dishes.

Quite different from the first bottle I tried.
Less rounded fruity body, sharper and a bit too oxidised for my liking.
Gave it time to breath and left overnight to try the next day but it never really improved.
I have 6 more so it will be interesting to try them over time.

First Friday night tipple in several months with mussel soup, breaded veal, sauté potatoes and salad.
Much as before, golden colour, oily, struck match flavours and eminiently drinkable. Dozed contentedly with last trickle in glass.
