Deep gold core with yellow gold rim. Very viscous in appearance. On the nose a true varietal bouquet of rose with lycee and spice notes. On the palate this wine had noticeable residual sugar along with a thick syrupy feel to the palate weight. However the intense fruit and spice flavours helped balance out the sweetness. The alcohol was well balanced. The flavours lingered in the long finish. Went surprisingly well with the roast pork - despite (perhaps understandably) lacking in the acidity needed to cut through the fat. Mature, drink up.

raw-gold in colour, with fragrant orange and lime blossoms, apricots, Lovely honey colour with citrus and nuttiness on the nose. Smooth palate with refreshing acidity balanced nicely with luscious sweetness. Strong botrytis characteristics. This wine will continue to age.

You can't help think that if Zind-Humbrecht made Gewurxtraminer in NZ, this is what it would taste like. I'd have preferred this a little drier...it's practically a VT.
