A powerful Rhône !! At or near peak, well aged and delicious. The cork was in good shape after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Dark purple color with medium clarity. Consumed over two days, a powerful wine. Aromas of raspberry and garrigue, this bottle displayed some barnyard aromas. Flavors of ripe plums, black cherry, rhubarb, and pepper. A fairly balanced inexpensive wine that has cellared well. I still have a few in the cellar and will open soon to see if the barnyard aroma flaw is throughout the production.

Wow this wine was amazing tonight. Did a pop'n pour after a long day of working in the yard and had this with leftover beef stew (needed comfort food) and man this wine was hitting on all cylinders. I really like it when a wine is ready for business, meaning that from that first sip you say "wow this had grabbed my interest big time". Nose was fantastic as I judge them by how many inches above the rim you can sense the wine and this was in the 2-3" category. No deep diving into the glass needed for this one. This had a Bordeaux like feeling to it with earth, tobacco, leather and a long, long finish. Every once and a while a wine will surprise the shit out of you and this bested a young 2012 Saxum Jim Barry that I had a few nights ago. A real winner at $16.99 four years ago from WTSO. Got better with age as my prior notes indicated.

After many years and bottles of disappointments this one showed all that I was anticipated in a A Vacqueyras, medium body, dry spicy, great length, integrated tannins. Poured over the Soirée, perhaps that made the difference

all previous notes stand, plus a fantastic bottle-aged complexity. Sorry this was the last one.

Much better than a few years ago. Pleasant dark, if simple fruit, and just a fleeting hint of the irksome acidity I noted previously. Time has helped.
