Another one from the great 2010 vintage bought so cheap (£7.25 per bottle in 2012!) Garnet in the centre, leaning towards orange on the rim. Looks the age, looks the part. Quite a pretty, lifted nose – roses, pomegranates, raspberries. Lovely, gracefully resolved tension between sweetness and savouriness, all on the back of an attractively energetic, racy acidity. Simple but delightful and at the most satisfying point of its ageing journey. Most enjoyable.

Very bright colour. I find the nose of this and some other 2010 Burgs so intriguing. There is attractive strawberry fruit but also a direct, almost assertive blackberry and apple tart component. Malic, sharp, very ripe, and rich all at once. Beautiful poise here. Delightful wine.

Strawberry everywhere. Peppery, clovey undertones. Great body, good taste. Not clever or complex, just quite nice.

Consistent with note from 2016--very slow to evolve. A nice drink. Hasn't really gained any succulence or complexity though.

This bottle was right on track with sappy, peppery fruit and a lovely refined dryness to the palate without being austere.
