  • Preface that Napa cabs aren’t our favorite

Let breathe for 30 min - wine went from a ton of fruit right away to spicy, leather, black pepper, tobacco, slightly astringent
Was hoping for more mushroom earthy funk

Doesn’t pair well with ribeye, almost tastes bitter. Oddly better with the potatoes & zucchini. Maybe it’s past its prime

  • Decanted for an hour. Beautiful nose. Very smooth on the palate with lots of black fruit and terrior. Has a delicious factor. Drinking beautifuly but not sure if I would wait any longer.

  • Did not drink like a full bodied mountain cab... A little bit of a lack luster finish. Might be past it's prime. Still had lots of fruit on the front palate.

  • See prior note on 2007

    100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Sediment encrusted cork, Nose shows freshness, verve, less terroir driven than 2007. Alcohol, mint, green brambles, dark fruit profile with flashes of red. Palate is medium weight, lighter, and more drinkable than the 2007. Balanced with solid tannin profile, muddled black fruit, mulberry jumps out with red berry energy and neutral wood. Purchased winery direct, stored accordingly and enjoyed 60 – 70 with grilled beef. Drinking window now – 8 years…Na zdrowie

  • Had this with a great big hunk of red meat. Very true to the HM fruit. Nose was choclate, red berries and cola, well ballanced on the tongue Red berries, ripe fig, tar and a touch of earth moss and leather, a touch fruit forward but not a bomb. finish was spiced with pepper, a touch of salted Carmel and was long. Very good wine at a good if not spectacular price ($71).
