Lovely bouquet. Smooth and long palate. So different from last night's 2013 Wynns Coonawarra black label cabernet but both excellent wines. I'm guessing this is 'in the zone'. Surprisingly light colour. But no bricking.

Cassis, gravel and a touch of gum leaf (merest whisper of menthol/mint). Medium/full palate of juicy blackcurrant with that gravelly undertone. (Oak adds?) an almost baked cinnamon component. Lovely very fine initially almost imperceptible tannin. Good length. Be interesting to see how this opens up with time.

Appearance: medium garnet. Nose: medium intensity; aromas of toast, black cherry, red cherry, cloves, ground coffee, blackcurrant, forest floor. It's developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus fine grained tannins, high alcohol (but doesn't feel high), medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity with blackcurrant and coffee notes. The finish is medium plus. Overall, it's a good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing. Typical MR cab with consistent good quality. Complex on the nose with both black and red fruits, leafiness and coffee. There's great acidity and fruits to balance the alcohol so that it doesn't feel burning at 14.5%. The flavour intensity is there and very much aligns with nose of typical 100% cabernet sauvignon green/acidic curranty notes (but ripe in a good way). The finish is very good at this price point. It's a fresh and lively wine even at 10 yrs old.
