Big, bold and powerfull. Browing at the edge, still with fleshy acidity. Ripe red berry fruits, salmiac, tar and oak in the finish. High in alcohol. Needs to breath at least 2 hours before drinking.

Big, brawny and bold, ready to drink as long as it gets 90+ mins of air, otherwise the tannins can be a little too bitter. Otherwise just a lovely example of the DOCG; still can't believe it was only $15. Ordered bottle at Casa Mia in Scottsdale. Good bottle of wine - balanced, very food friendly (at 13.5%). Somewhat light, with initial fruit, but deeper (earthier) flavors lurking underneath. Drys out a bit on the finish. Priced a bit steep at restaurant pricing, but would definitely buy again if I can find it retail.

Currently offered by the PLCB for $14.99 - an amazing value! Not the best Sagrantino out there, but true to the style and enjoyable. Read more: http://pavineco.com/?p=3996 (Hey, tasting note #500!)

Drank this with some home made pasta. Enjoyable all around but a bit flat. Probably was best a few years ago.
