Theatre of Wine Pinot Noir Tasting (Theatre of Wine, Tufnell Park): Nose offers lots of ripe cherry. Lots of sweet fruit on the palate which carries through to the finish; I'd prefer it fractionally drier. There are some roasted coffee notes too. Blind I think I’d be guessing New Zealand. It’s not obviously burgundian but perhaps that will emerge with time.

The best thing about this wine is its ability to seem ripe, joyous and a bit tarty whilst silky and feline at the same time. This is not a complex beast, although there is a little malty-cumin angle on the nose, but is pure, linear and just delicious with uncomplicated acid to cleanse on the finish.
