Coravin pour at F.L.X. Table in Geneva, NY. Classic Latour taste profile. Oxidized edge into garnet. Showed it’s age and vintage but was still a treat to drink.

Tawny in colour. Rasin, caramel, nutty, almond. Medium- tannin, medium acidity. Its not faulty but sour in the after taste. Shoulder level fill. Could be better if its in better condition.

Cork in great shape, fully soaked. Took it out of the cellar and let it stand for about 8 hours (maybe it needed more) and then poured directly from bottle during the night. Great color and nose opening up gradually. Berries, leather, complex mix of earth and licorice... Holding on spectacularly after 55 years. Has lost its original power but it maintains tremendous ability to morph into the best company for light of meaty foods. Great balance, real happy with this bottle of a great Latour.

Wonderful shape still. Much better than the 67 Lafite that i had with it, almost as good as the 02 Lafite. Less though than the 86 Margaux and 95 Screamer that topped the evening off. Surprised how well the Latour went down the second night. MUch more enjoyable for me , good bouquet and taste was balanced.
