Dark red color, no evidence of bricking. Nose was indicative of an old Bordeaux. Very little, if any, fruit left. The tannins were in the background but the wine turned out to be a nice accompaniment to a bone-in standing rib rose on Xmas. My last bottle and much better than the one I had in 2015

Expectation frame everything. With no one expecting much from this, we were all pretty happy to see some pretty, concentrated dark red fruit with no real off notes. Not the greatest purity or complex spices, but an admirable showing even if not particularly interesting.

Thin. Mint. Juniper. Small hints of fruit left. Strawberry. Iodine. Still a remnant of tannin on the tongue. Subtle Acid. Brown tea color. Not bad for 43 years

The nose is super '76 with an over-ripe character. But despite that, it retains enough violet, cedar, and plum notes to remind you that it's Palmer. My least favorite Palmer, but good for 1976.

Nose: Very ripe dark fruit, but not quite to the figgy level reported by others. Blackberry, ripe plum, green bell pepper, coffee, sage and some of the lavender notes one expects of Palmer. Palate: Quite good on the palate with a ripe blackberry jam attack, floral notes and then more green. Finish: Anywhere from good length to green astringent at various points in the night.
Overall, I fell into the pleasantly surprised camp on this bottle. Fruit was over ripe and green at once but the Palmer character shined through.
