(Sybille Kuntz Riesling "Gold Quadrat") Kuntz is a dry wine specialist and she really made some great stuff in the 2001 vintage. This wine has a nose of honey, petrol, some faint slate and some hints of paprika and other spices. Palate has wonderful concentration with a slab of intense minerally slate and great density. Fruit is stone fruits with piquant acidity mirroring the paprika on the nose. Great complexity and almost some flavors of concentraterd lemon curd. Long finish. This is outstanding and is driking great today and had at least five to seven years left.

Nice crisp, flavorful Riesling on a hot day. There' s a golden color, and a combination of fresh apricots and golden beets on the palate.
