Medium ruby. Blackberries, raspberry, graphite nose. Medium bodied, quite well balanced. Well integrated tannins. Enjoyable, may improve, will revisit next year.

UCGB tasting Bordeaux 2011 (Amsterdam): The bouquet is reticent and a bit herbaceous. On the palate juicy red and dark berry fruits, some chocolate, bell pepper, herbaceous, ok acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Well used oak. Give it some time; so try again around 2020 - 2022. For now 88 - 90, so I score it 89.

The licorice, smoke and black raspberry nose is more interesting than the medium bodied, red fruit and espresso bean in the finish. There is a touch of dryness in the end note. This is an interesting wine for fans of consultants. When the wine was vinified, Stephane Derenoncourt was looking over the winemaking. When the wine was aged and finished, Hubert de Bouard of Chateau Angelus took over as consultant.

Tarry, red berry, mushroom, and smoky earth nose. On the palate, very good flavours and assertion with beautiful minerality, harmony, and length.
5/5
