With Gary Z. at Poke. Very wooly initially, then mellows out and shows its more fluid side, showing more white Chardonnay fruit than seashell or oystershell, with a bit of lanolin. Good acidity and decent cut, but not very complex at this point. Seems a bit meek and in need of some more time to come out of its shell. B

Chablis with Vitis Bergensis (Hotel Terminus, Bergen, Norway): The nose is more shut down than the 2001. The aromas are in a transition from flowers and perfume towards seashells. Also honey and nuts. After a bit of air it is very nice. On the palate it is powerful. Not yet mature and will probably be great.

Nice Chablis aromas. A bit coarse and loose in the structure. Lacks the tightness and elegance of a top 1er cru. Maybe over the hill?
