  • This is an interesting wine. Recent release. Flamboyant garigue and provincial spice notes that really carry the nose and palate. Has some red fruit notes underneath. Fine tannin. Enough acidity. Moderate concentration—not overdone at all, very nice touch.

  • Vinosphere Tasting: Earth, horse, floral and cherry with a light menthol kick. Palate is medium length with plenty of spicy fruit. Good early drinking interest.

  • A very dark ruby colour with only a hint of brown at the rim.
Good concentration on the nose with lavender, cinnamon, sweet liquirise, and packed with bramble and blackberries. It does have some of the led pencil, but it is not dominant. Plum and pepper is coming forward after a few minutes.
Great grip and attack on the palate. Acidity refreshing lifting the wine. Tannins soft velvety and barely noticable, just keeping the wine together from behind the curtain.
The palate has a green leafy element that I did not notice on the nose. The pepper, blackberry, bitter green bell pepper adding freshness to the palate, beetroot and other vegetal components adds a strangely pleasing level to the palate.
maybe the best vin de table - but a great pleasure all the same.
Buy and drink or keep, this one is getting better.

  • Upon opening - aromas of port, sherry, madeira and chinese medicine oinment. This decreased over time but never really left. In the mouth firm tannins - somewhat better with a 1+ hours of air. More than a hint of Green vegetal/tree sap aromas started coming out too. With 2 hours of airtime and some duck casoullet it would be quite enjoyable. A bit more interesting than your normal VDT due to its shifting nose. At the end of the day it may have gotten higher marks if it didn't have that 'green/tree sap' smell I dislike so much.
