  • Port - sorry, "fortified wine" - made from grenache from old bush vines planted in the 1930s.
A fancy schmanzy 500ml bottle, that's not easy to pour from (and no good with any corkscrew that would fit over a regular bottle top).
Mature appearance, starting to brown. Smells like sweet, raisiny fortfied red wine. Much more simple than any real port, and smelling really rather straightforward.
Sweet, but not oversweet on the palate. Nice rounded, open. Very attractive and easy. But no great depth and no complexity to speak of.
