Given an hour of air before pouring. Ruby core with garnet at the rim. A bit of stem and some blackberry on the nose. Sappy and I daresay that this is one of the most fruit-forward Pommards I have experienced. Excellent black and dark red fruit, fine acidity, and an excellent late coating of soil. The balance and accessibility are impressive although there are dry, lingering tannins left in the mouth after you swallow.

Tasted blind. Red cherries, raspberries, tart fruit, and a lot of whole cluster lift on the nose. Quite tannic on the palate, but with good acidity and some slightly rustic notes of red berries and pomegranate. Nice, lingering finish. Very tasty, but I would've guessed CA Pinot.

This just looked like Pinot when it was poured into my glass. Nose was a little boozy but I'm sure that would burn off. What immediately caught my attention were the elements on the palate that were not fruit related. This had a northern rhone Syrah or southern rhone Grenache complexity thing going on. And I liked it. Terpins, toasted oak, low levels of red fruit, tar, and crushed rock. Really nice wine.

Served blind. When it was still cool to the touch and as the first pour, it came off to me with some grenache qualities: juicy, hard cherry candy, strawberry and a kick of tannin grip in the finish. But, as I have tried to learn with blind tasting, one has to let air do its thing and to try and follow the markers in the glass, not enforce onto the wine what either I want it to be or what I think it should be! As it aired and warmed up to an ideal temp, it changed, reminding me some Anderson Valley CA pinot qualities, exhibiting blue fruit and touches of red apple and dark plum. Has a kiss of vanilla still in the palate, too. Lovely stuff.
