  top shoulder, fester Korken, eine schöne Überraschung, tolle dunkelrote Farbe, kein bisschen braun oder trüb, staubiges Bouquet wunderbare harmonische Töne von reifer Pflaume, Vanille, Zimtstern und creme broulee, im STaub MIneralien und Bleistiftmine, mittlere Länge, weiche Tannine. Für einen schlechten Jahrgang in dem oft die weichen Merlost fehlen und manche Cuvee eher unrund gelang, ist das hier einen echte Überraschung, die ich deswegen eher 1 Punkt zu hoch ansetze

  A real shocker. Not only was this alive, it was very good. No fruit but enough provocative flavors to make it a success.

  Unfortunately, I waited too long to open this one. Drinkable only within the first ten minutes of opening, then it faded and went right over the hill and became brownish undrinkable juice.

  I opened this last night when my wife and I went over to a friends house to cook out. I recently bought this at auction for $5. 1984 was not a good year in Bordeaux but a 22 year old classified growth was worth this price just for the experience. This wine suprised me. The cork came out in 2 pieces. It was an orangish brown color with very little sediment. This had some mustiness on the nose but not as much as I expected. It had a decent amount of fruit as well. The tannins were fading and it was on a downward slide; but, then I expected that and only bought one bottle. An average to above average bottle of wine. There were a couple cases for sale on winebid a few months ago so if anyone else won any, drink up. 84 points.
