  • got an email that this was coming into it's own
    and boy was it ever!
    it remains always about the volcano
    but integrated fruit made this an excellent addition/accompaniment
    to the meat dishes at Jeong

  • Exceptional wine - lush, deep, luxurious mouth feel. It has a black cherry cola flavor, kind of New World-ish which surprises me for Anglianico. Cedar and ash and a spiciness on the back end. A sweetness I cannot describe. Bright acidity, especially carrying an ultra-long finish. This is the last of six of these and I wish I would have started drinking them now. Not that it's going to get much better (if at all) but it's certainly drinking beautifully right now.

  • Another excellent showing of this world-class wine (from probably the best vintage they have ever produced). Takes about 1-2 hours in the decanter to open up aromatically... beautiful notes of sweet and sour red berries, ash, tar, graphite, cedar wood, cigarbox, rosemary and other savory herbs, but also a touch of dark chocolate (especially from a larger glass) and some sweet spices. It‘s full-bodied and dense, with medium-high tannin that is excellent quality and still high acidity providing so much tension and freshness. Excellent length. A superb Terra di Lavoro of the very highest level.

  • Little young now. So I decanted for several hours. Then it started to sing. Tobacco, black plums, violets on the nose. Very consentrated and long. Will last for 20 years!
