light clear garnet color, eye of the partridge! Super nose offering up small red fruits, spice, coffee. Still very early in development with rich ripe primary fruit flavors balanced by mouth watering acidic minerality and rounded gripping tannins. Long finish. Needs 5/10 years. Lovely young burg.

Really attractive and characterful bottle of Suchots. Put this producer in the same bucket as Jouan and Stephane Magnien and others making terroir-expressive Burgundies in an ethereal, perfumed style. This is pretty and red-fruited, with the fruit eventually giving way to the characteristic cinnamon-and-clove aromatics of Vosne-Romanée. It's broad on the palate, but gently concentrated, without the dense saturation you might get at the grand cru level. But it is a top-notch 1er, textbook for the terroir and reasonably priced too.

Vosne Millésime - Noblesse des Clos Vougeot - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Wine tasting. Black cherry aromas with baking spice hints. Similar on fruit profile palate, very good supporting structure with everything in balance. Long and direct finish with good spice re-emerging.
