A little darker in color than some pinots, but with a clear virbrant reddishness that yielded a strong fresh fruit nose highlighted by cherries. A pleasing attack on entry, not overwhelming, and with enough acid at the end to make it work with food. All in all, an easy sipper with the chef's varied tasting menu at Tru in Chicago.

Very typical Garys’. Deep purple color, brooding dark cherry and black fruit with touches of clove and perhaps a hint of black pepper matching on both the nose and palate. Nicely balanced with plenty of grip remaining, some candied fruit sweetness showing on the early finish and a bit of astringency on the late finish. It held up well over several days with a perceptible but fairly small decline. Significantly better than pedestrian but short of rocking my world, this is a very typical and nicely executed example of Garys’ Pinot.

Very dense and deep red in color. Initially, the nose showed some earth, but that soon got buried in the rich dark cherry scents. After a couple of hours, the nose did receded somewhat. The wine is very big in the mouth, rich and heavy in weight, but a little diluted and thin in the fruit. Finish is on the medium side, and finishes with jammy ripe cherries. This wine is drinking pretty well right now.

Saturated purple to the rim. Sweet nose cherry jam, lavender. Palate was fat and sweet, medium to full bodied, with strawberries, bitter chocolate, and a really tangy flavor that threw me off slightly - the mid palate almost tasted salty. finish was quite long and structured, this wine almost tasted manufactured. I may have thought it was an aussie wine to be honest.

No Notes.
Not big and syrupy. Very well made pinot. Dark cherries and a nice finish.
