Served blind from magnum. Sour nose. Broad, rich, sweet attack. Angular and not harmonious. Very weird and actually quite unpleasant. A real bummer as I’m a huge vilmart fan and have this in both bottles and mags. Need to try from my own to see if this was a representative showing.

Drinking very nicely. Not so much oxidation. Tangerine, vanilla creaminess. Flavors are smooth but not very complex. Overall yummy enough that I would buy again.

A very solid wine but I hoped for a bit more from this. It beat the 04 Taitinger Cdc next to it for me. Definitely Vilmart but it could have had a bit more depth or ox and/or more acidity to balance. Other nearby vintages of this have been better lately.

From magnum, this was fairly tight to start with, but beautifully balanced with gorgeous mousse and impressive persistence, coming back at the end of the lunch it had opened up a lot and was showing plenty of creamy fruit and white chocolate, this was really good and should develop nicely over the coming decade or so

20 years young. My last bottle of 6. This was really excellent. Fresh, nutty, yeasty, long finish. First of an excellent night at Tony’s
