  • needs air time. dense, weighty and well-balanced. This wine now is coming into its own, so the drinking window in cellar tracker is a bit short. I would say drink by 2021.

  • Dense ruby color. Aromas of earth, dark fruits, and mineral. Similar on the palate, but there was a grapey, fake, element going on on the pop that fortunately worked itself out w/ 30 mins. to an hour of air (pouring off glasses, not decanting). Fine now with air, but with only 1 more in holding, and given my preferences, I might hold it a couple more years.

  • Second bottle was much better than first and aged well. Drink now as it has mellowed over time. Decant for 30-45 min. Dark fruits of plum, prune, blackberry. Spicy, black pepper on the mid. Smokey dry finish. A wine that will hold up well against grilled steak.

  • A nose of some dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with plum, kirsch, herbs and some spice on finish. www.winelx.com

  • First off don't even think about judging this wine until it has decanted for at least 1-2 hours or more. At first smell all I got was rubbing alcohol. After decanting, more of the aromatics come through. On the nose Still a bit of rubbing alcohol, candied cherry, bubble gum, and cassis. Taste: black raspberry, black pepper, spicy, fruity at first then goes a bit rustic. Hot sauce on the back end, a bit hot alcohol burn, candied plums. Long finish of dark fruits. This wine completely changed over a two hour period all for the better after some healthy agitation in the decanter. Nocking off a couple points for the hot factor.
