Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 83 points

  • 13,5% alcohol. Tasted blind in a tasting of fifteen dry 2009 Rieslings.

Youthful, intense lime-green color. Sweet, super-primary and rather candied nose with open aromas of gummi bears, peach candies, some perfumed flowers, a little bit of pear drop, a chemical hint of glue or paint and a touch of stony minerality. This smells like 1-year old Pinot Grigio, not like a 10 years old Riesling. The wine is young, fresh and crisp on the palate with dry, linear flavors of tart green apples, candied gummi bear tones, some lemony citrus fruits, a little bit of pear drops and a hint of steely minerality. High acidity. The finish is crisp and rather short with tangy saline minerality and somewhat candied flavors of gummi bears, some pear marmalade and a hint of tart lemony citrus fruits.

Meh. A very uninteresting Riesling that doesn't really taste neither Riesling nor a white wine that is 10 years old. I have no idea how the wine can taste so candied and primary after all these years, but it really does. The wine scored a total of 7 points and finished in the last place.
