Big volume. Very tropical and creamy, with lots of oak spice. Coats the tongue with a buttery sensation I don't like. Bitter finish. Others will like this more than I do.

Very California, in a slightly gross way. Rich, buttery, and alcoholic. Interesting aromas of dried mushrooms and hazelnuts. Lots of nutmeg and white pepper (not sure if this is from the oak or from age). Core flavors of cooked pear, lemon oil, and butterscotch. Lots to enjoy, but the wine builds toward a yucky finish of alcohol and artificial butter flavor. I don't like this producer. Reviewed just for concentration and complexity, this wine would approach 95, but the flavor profile and balance are poor to my tastes. Is "California chard bomb" a word?
From an aging perspective, I don't think this wine is at all past its prime. It could very well improve over the next five years.

This wine seems to be getting better with every bottle I open but alas this is my last one. Popped and poured for a crowd of red wine drinkers and they all thought it was the best wine of the evening. Beautiful long finish with butterscotch and caramel notes on a very long finish. I think this wine could continue to show well for another couple of years.

Pale yellow in color. Lemon, apple and oak on the nose. Flavors of lemon, apple, pear and oak. Just a touch of butter. Good balance. Long finish. Very nice.
