Napa Valley - November 2022; 11/16/2022-11/19/2022 (Napa Valley): Nose is massively expressive with vanilla cream, cedar and raspberry jam. Palate feels luxuriously smooth with chocolate, blueberry, cherry and crushed stone. Acidity starts to show on the finish with some menthol/eucalyptus. Tannins were still rather dusty.
Might not come together as an anywhere near perfect wine even with more time, but is quite enjoyable now and could go a few more years.

Honestly I expect more from La Jota. Solid merlot, with good body and structure. It just didn't all come together almost disjointed. Now don't get me wrong it was still good but not in the realm of Mt Brave or God Forbid Lokoya or Cardinale. Just missing something.

Stunning nose. Deep, complex, chocolate and red fruit backed by some vegetal notes. Cab-like. On the palate it had some nice fruit but it was a bit hollow in the mid and the finish was quite short. Oak-heavy the whole way through. Might come together with time as it opened a bit in the glass after an hour and the mid fleshed out slightly.

Slight leather, cream, plums, spice and vanilla on the nose. In the mouth the cedary oak is the fore on this bottle. The wine is rich with grippy chewy and slightly burnt tannins over concentrated plum with massive mouthfeel and huge structure. Having said that, the wine is well balanced in it's bulky weight.
