Second Sunday Group: 2006 vs 2007 Napa Cabs/Blends (R&D's): Currant and nice red plum notes with a rustic earthy undertone. Red berry fruit on the palate, along with a nice cigar tobacco quality. Finishes with medium length. On the rustic side, but I like that. Very nice. 88+ pts.

Still a dark colour Stunning nose, very Rioja-like so full of fruit, cherry-coke, sandalwood, cinnamon and leather. Tons of sediments hide a pleasant palate. Disliked that mouthfeel. For what it is, not bad at all. Starting a 2001 Merlot based Bourdelais tasting 1/5

This bottle showed strong nutty leathery taste and a touch of green olives, the fruit not very much showing here, old-fashioned but in my opinion still complete, just doesn't show it's charm here, ruby color with bit of brown edge, should be drunk by now!

Likeable claret but hardening a bit - the St Emilion fruit and cream dissipating - drink up I reckon.

Not very impressed; maybe it's passed its peak. Must drink now. Very short finish. Unimpressive nose.
