Loads of malty/grainy sweetness on the nose, with distinctive rye notes. Less sweet on the palate than expected, instead it is fairly dry with green flavors: green bell pepper, and herbs especially. Very easy drinking. Tasted from a Neat glass.

WSET Level 4 Course - WSET School; 9/6/2014-5/23/2015 (WSET School, Bermondsey): Appearance: This is clear with a medium amber colour. Nose: The nose is clean showing medium intensity aromas of cereal, honey sweetness, wood notes, nail varnish. This is matured. Palate: This is dry in the mouth with harsh alcohol. It has a medium body and medium intensity flavours of rye, spicy cereal, vanilla, toffee, caramel, peppery spice. The finish is long and very complex. Conclusion: It is a very good quality spirit. Good balance, long and complex, alcohol sticks out a bit. Premium price - £36.99

Pour @ Lucky Joe's. Dark golden appearance. Aroma is pretty tame. Sweet brown sugar, molasses, pear. Smooth flavor. Some burnt wood and light smoke. Caramel and cinnamon apple. Spicy rye mouth feel and flavor. Drinks pretty decent.

first bottle of rye whiskey. Sweet entry, with the spice and rye grain on the finish. The rye grain flavor is not that dominant. Being primarily a Scotch single malt drinker, I felt that it was more mellow than I was led to believe reading reviews about rye whiskey. Not as sweet as Bourbon, but similar in character.
