This pours light garnet in the glass with light bricking. Great color considering the age. After following for several hours the aromatics here are never super expressive or complex but there is a lovely inner core of deep red fruit. The nose gently wafts light cherry, pomegranate, firepit, a touch of peony, shrubby herbs, and dry rocky soil. The palate enters on sour cherry, is mostly resolved with low tannin and medium plus acid. The finish comes across a bit clipped. I had high hopes for this bottle and it was good, but not quite at the level I had hoped.

Glorious CdP nose of ripe summer berries with layered black cherry jam with leather and a hint of rose water. Palate is definitely past best however, rather thining acidic red fruit with completely resolved tannins and an earthy, herby finish. Over the hill? For sure. Still wonderful? Definitely!

Sherried. Cork crumbled, should have used an ah-so. Sediment is very very heavy like previous notes mention. This is past it’s peak, and past it’s prime. Disappointing. Bricked color. Stewed cooked fruit and nut aromas. Bummer to pour this one out.

Magnum. Presenting really well. Color, nose and palate flawless. More precise than deep. Positive evolution in the glass
