  • When opening a bottle, the cork split, was in poor shape, used my Durand and extracted it...
found it to be CORKED, off, skanky...
i wanted to drink the wine so i decided to open another bottle to demonstrate the difference.
i opened another bottle and the cork came out perfectly,
    but then...
the second bottle was CORKED very badly, worse than the first.
Decided to switch to a different wine for the evening.
Interesting that PlumpJack markets both cork v screw top bottlings and here we had a very rare occurrence: encountering 2 corked bottles of same wine, same year, in a row! (first time for me!)
I've liked the wine in prior tastings.
    This isn't baseball...it's wine consumption...
so only 2 strikes allowed and then NO MORE opening of the wine for the evening!

  • Lovely wine with a great body. Very californian cab fruit foward nose. Good secondary flavors. Not showing its age at all. Very big lush wine. A meal in a glass.
