Light to medium-weight pleasant cab. Dark color and clean, dark fruit flavors but lacking the depth of more powerful Napa cabs. CT drinking window seems a bit optimistic. Don't see this improving much from here.

Enjoyed this. Dark violet color. Flavors of dark fruit, cassis, black cherry. A touch hot on the tongue followed by smooth medium finish with moderate tannins.

Not a bad wine for the price. Enjoyed with some spicy pulled pork sandwiches. This one was nice and spicy to match! The cork was pulled with just about no stain on it at all. Decanted for about an hour. Poured into the glass a very deep, dark red with some violet. The spice in this wine claims its St. Helena roots. On the nose was dark blackberry and some dusty spice. The front is all blackberry, a hint of tobacco, some mint leaf. The middle is where this one showed a little bit of an earthy side. Allspice and oregano sort of crept in. The finish was dark, full bodied, moderately tannic. A good wine, just not very complex. And, I'm not sure what kind of holding potential it has - I think that this one was really made to drink now or within the next 3-4 years at least. I think this one is already showing its true colors just about right out of the bottle.

Winery Tastings, Napa, May 2012; 5/17/2012-5/20/2012 (Coombsville, Howell Mountain, Moss Creek, Calistoga, Spring Mountain, Rutherford, Pritchard Hill): (A-) From barrel. Much like the 09, but with a bit more black fruit. Doesn't have the ripeness, but the fruit seems "tamer" and more accessible. Lots of soft tannin, just enough acid to keep it going. Nice.
