Easy going wine that works well with food. As with most Abruzzo I have had, it does not really stand out as a great, memorable wine, but seldom offends, too.

Liked it because it is an easy going and approachable wine without being simple! It gives appearance that tannin are fully resolved and maybe it does feel like more structure is needed because fruit is big. Nose is in a good alignment with a palate. On the palate, most interesting is a combination of red berry fruit with black tea.

This wine had an interesting smokey nose, but was a little on the smarmy sweet side. I think my definition of "smarmy" may align with what others call over-extracted, but I like my visual better. It is kind of like someone wearing a well-tailored suit that is pink-- a little too cute. In any case, the wine was quite serviceable, but not in the class of the top Abruzzi I have had.

Gave several hours of air in decanter. Nose of meat, dusty wood, very light anise and hints of red fruit. On the palate comes cherries, and still mature tannin. Full in the mouth and round and bright on the finish. A bit one dimensional, but a worthy simple Italian daily drinker. PJG: 88 (not pleased).

Quite good. Black-red robe; harmonious (no rough edges) on the nose or the palate; cherry and plum, but with little acid. A touch of sweetness.
