garnet with dark core. dark fruits and oak flavours. clear fruity sweetness and moderate acidity, powdery tannins, a little cigar box hints, warm and smooth. medium bodied. dry finish, not too long. simple and very accessible Rioja, good QPR.
Deep cherry with garnet hues. Stewed fruit with fine wood and underlying spice on the nose. Elegant harmony of fruit, tannin and acidity with balsamic base with a long finish. Really great value out of Rioja.

I'm not convinced. This is a 2010 Rioja that I would expect to deliver a bright, exuberant, fruit profile, but doesn't. It acts like a dusty, old fashioned, Old World, large cask aged wine. The color is purple. The nose has buttered black cherry, and a touch of earth. The palate has black cherry, and blueberry, with all kinds of confusing, non fruit, sappy, almost industrial, secondary flavors. Just past medium bodied. Only 12.5% alcohol. Noticeable, controlled oak. The finish has some vanilla, brown spice, light black cherry, tobacco and earth. Expected better.
