Wine needs to be decanted at this moment. Much better in balance on day 2. Softened up nicely, ripe but not overripe, good acidity, lovely spicy touch. Enough alcohol so not to be served too warm.

Opened one hour in advance. Garrigue and mint aromas. Intense blackberry flavor, sweet blackberry/cassis finish. Firm acids counterbalance the sweet fruits nicely, though it still is more simple and syrupy than I prefer. Excellent CDR Villages, but lacking those extra elements that would make it special.

Hides abv well. Slightly sugarsticky palate. Black berry. Mint. Lavender? Wild cherries? Good stuff.
