In a really great spot now. Tannins are resolved and this wine shows a wonderful forest strawberry on the nose and palate, coupled with forest floor aromas. Great acidity typically from Pinot that keeps the wine well alive. Not sure about further development, so drink it now!

Clos des Epeneaux survey, part II (Chicago, IL): Probably the best of the bunch tonight. The 2000 red Burgundies have been drinking very well for a few years now and don't really show many signs of fading, and this bottle was very much in that same vein. Almost fully resolved with a silky tannic finish, this is showing lots of secondary characteristics with a modest autumnal touch. The fruit is still fresh and shows no signs of browning or drying out.

(Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos de Epenaux" Jeaunes Vignes) Earthy nose with dark cherries and floral tones. Serious and extracted in the mouth. Great stuff but not nearly ready for primetime.
(Comte Armand Pommard 1er Cru "Clos de Epenaux") Incredible nose of red flowers, earth, spice. Really aromatic. Wow, what intensity on the palate with extremely concentrated fruit and huge tannins. Still very balanced and even elegant. Thoroughly saturates the palate. Great Pommard.

Beautiful on the nose but palate lacks depth, focus, and precision but it is a nice drink and probably not worth the market price.

Dark and earthy and without any remarkable notes.
Honest Pommard.

Nice bottle but none of this 2000 Clos des Ep seems to really grab me. Good. Far from great
