I thought that 2011 was a difficult year but this is excellent. Medium body, fruity, smooth on entry and all the way down. Mike Press is a bloody genius.

2011 was a lousy vintage in most of Australia which means I find this wine a little more Northern Rhone than Adelaide Hills…peppery spice, blackberry and brambles and a slight stalkiness on the nose with a touch of sous bois…this is translated to the palate though does lack a bit of freshness. After four years this wine is showing very well for me. Excellent value at $12 a bottle.

Getting better with age. Lighter, sharper than normal (very cool, wet year). Real white peppercorn nose and palate. Fine to leave for a few more years...

Bright, white pepper nose. Still quite high in acid, but holds it well. Really enjoy this wine.
