  De color cereza granatoso de capa media-alta, muy tapado, oscuro. Reflejos rojizos, sin mucho brillo. Cierta sensación de grosor. Ribete amplio, anaranjado, con mucha diferencia respecto al menisco.
  
  Parco de aromas, cicatero, lejano, sin el mínimo atisbo de esa expresión y evolución que solían mostrar los vinos de esta bodega (al menos los de temporadas atrás...). Se muestra duditativo y de una moderación que llega a molestar. Encontramos algo parecido a la fruta negra y un fondo avainillado flan-Dhul. Vacío, sin nada más.
  
  En boca menos y peor. Corto, flaco, áspero, desintegrado, pero con ademanes de gran señor. Va muy justito de acidez, sobrado de alcohol y cebado de madera. Un vino para olvidar. No creo que llegue a gustar ni siquiera a alguien que acabe de aterrizar en esto del vino. El Riscal más descorazonador probado nunca y creo que difícilmente superable. Embotellar algo así con esa etiqueta querida es una afrenta. No merece ser puntuado. "You can run, you can run... I'm standing at the crossroads, I believe I'm sinking down...".

  90% tempranillo, 5% graciano, 5% mazuelo - 12.5% vol.
  Uva procedente de viñedos sobre suelos arcillo calcáreos con una edad mínima de 15 años proveniente de viñedos propios y de productores de la Rioja Alavesa. Fermentación en depósitos de acero inoxidable a temperatura controlada. Sometido a 24 meses de crianza en barricas nuevas de roble americano de 225 litros. Un mínimo de 12 meses de guarda en botellero en los calados de la bodega antes de ser comercializado.
