As perhaps expected, this is starting to fade a bit. Still youthful appearance. Disjointed upon opening, with a strong smell of raw green beans. Over time, that smooths into a more traditional Loire bell pepper note. Medium body, with a notable elegant texture, but the flavors are more muted and faded than prior bottles. Still a treat, but drink up.

Still has its luminous neon magenta color nine years post-harvest. Consistent with my last note except it's softening around the edges now. It has the same energy but no longer so acute or angular.

Really lovely showing. Fresh and crunchy plum with some cinnamon spice in the nose (stems?). Comes off as youthful and fresh and open. Vastly better showing than the last time I had this. Drink (or hold).

P&p. Drinking well, seems to be aging gracefully. Aromas of fresh, pretty, reddish fruit/flowers; cinnamon; earth; and plant sap/leaves/stems. Nice pungency, flirting with funk, while staying pretty and elegant. Surprisingly grippy tannins, along with good acidity. This doesn't seem to have lost any of its fruit, freshness, or interest. Seems to have the structure to age further, but perfectly enjoyable to drink now.

I want to apologize to the wine world for taking another bottle of CRB out of circulation forever. Still lovely, and only 1 more left... Here's to Catherine and Dideon, here's to the late, great Pif!
