Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2007 “Gran Cuvée” pours a pretty pink salmon color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, pretty red florals and light red forest fruits. On the palate, strawberries and citrus fruits. Even though the acid is there, it comes across fairly round and I have little doubt the vintage plays a role here. A pretty and easy to crush Franciacorta.

After reading the Wikipedia entry for Franciacorta DOCG, I understand why I like this wine, it's champagne. Well it's made in the classic way. Light copper colored with a hearty bead; full bodied with strawberry, cherry, and wonderful earth and mineral flavors. Makes me want to serve this blind amongst some rose champagne. This would easily hold it's own (and save you a few bucks).

Slightly sweeter than I would have guessed. Nice.

Same as previous bottle. Very effervescent, careful with the cork! Full bodied and delicious.
