  • Forgot I had these bottles! Upon opening very acidic and the taste had a bitterness. I let it breathe for 30 minutes then started to sip. A medium bodied wine. Greek olive and spices on the nose. Raisin, plumb, spices in the mouth and it finishes like a port! I let these wines sit because I did not care for them initially....really enjoying it now!

  • Color is dark ruby. Initial aroma is roasted plums and blackberries, with a savory touch underneath. The "ripasso-style" merlot is very different from anything else I've tried so far; doesn't have the brightness of fruit of Napa but a veering jamminess completely unlike traditional Italian merlot. Attack is deep, plush, and dark. The raisined quality of the fruit really shows up first, and the aromatic notes are confirmed. Body is thick and full, with no shortage of medium-grained tannins providing structure and support. Finish is quite long for the price with replays of dried fig and fruitcake, reminiscient of a good LBV port. Although the gimmick is greater than the wine, it is by no means unimpressive for under $15.

  • Pretty good Merlot. My first from Italy. Smokey Aroma. Nice Finish.

  • Initial hit of fruit then some cinnamon and cloves as well as dark berries. Palate is quite tight with fine tannins and a long powdery finish. Crisp fresh balance holds though finish as well.

  • A very younglooking wine, purple, red and no visible rim. Nose with lots of dark plum, blackberries and boysenberries. Taste was lots of midpalate of them dense dark fruits and berries.
