Pale yellow, very clear. Nose: Fairly muted but slightly creamy with some straw and grass and lightly toasted almonds. Palate: this is all about light fruit and florals. Creamy texture and very smooth, high viscosity. Again, light fruit flavors of Granny Smith apples, pear, lemon grass, tart starfruit, and unripe apricots. Touch of violets and tulips. There's a strong acidic tone but it does not fight with the creaminess; a really nice juxtaposition. Finish: a bit oily and creamy with some limeade and pear. Similar interplay between the creamy and acidic features as the toasted almond comes back. Overall a very nice wine with the requisite complexity for its price point.

Reasonable fruit, light-to-medium wine. A little boring - I was expecting more from this blend, given the components - would be a great $12 bottle, but certainly not $19.

(Syncline Subduction White Columbia Valley) A lightly aromatic wine with pear, peach, and lime. The palate has drawn out fruit flavors with an extraordinary amount of texture leading to an open finish. A very serious wine for the price. 38% Roussanne, 26% Marsanne, 20% Viognier, 10% Picpoul, and 6% Grenache Blanc. Boushey, McKinley Springs, and Alder Ridge vineyards. Fermented and aged in neutral French oak. 13.0% alcohol. 410 cases produced. Sample provided by winery
