  • From 75, good cork, opened but not decanted 1 hour, did not improve in glass. As expected, an unusual medium-sweet Chenin Blanc, preserved (and IMO enhanced) by MT's special technique of deliberately adding some underripe juice. Medium gold colour; youthful floral scent battles it out with pleasant oxidation; the entry palate is very lively— high, almost grappa-like notes of underripe crushed grapes overlay a silky carpet of ripe (but not evidently botrytis affected) gently sweet fruit, somewhere between Spätlese and a light Auslese. Look forward to revisiting in the future. A great match with chicken liver paté, and several other people’s WOTN. 90P

  • Solid wine for its age with no hint of dying. Serve as a comparison to an Canadian ice wine and this was quite good. Thank you to Richie and Chris at Smith and the Loyalist.

  • Drank on my 30th birthday. Nose was a bit oxidized but the palate was alive and kicking. Nice but not my style of wine.
