  • Stunning longevity of this Sardinian CS. Aged in new FR oak small barriques for 14 months and in bigger barrels for 12 months. Deep garnet, brownish rim. Intense aroma of prunes, tobacco, spices, dried cherries, prunes, hazelnuts, dried herbs. Medium body, earthy, meaty and barnyardish flavours with hints of dried fruits, silky texture, broad but not overpowering with great balance of medium+ acidity, rich and polished tannins, envious alcohol integration of 12.5% of abv and very long finish. Drink now.

  • Among Italy's great Cabs, this wine is showing at peak, imo. Still quite primary in appearance and smell, it has lovely balance, with currants, cassis, bramble, cypress, cherry, a hint of iron, smoke, and leather. Well-structured, with a smooth mouthfeel, slightly thin in the middle, but strong finish with grainy tanin and decent grip.

This was, back in the day, a 3-bicchiere wine, one of many such ratings given to Sella and Mosca for this bottling. Fortunately, it's never found a huge following in the U.S. These bottles were originally sold by Roberto's shop. I bought them at auction for 1/3 original price. This is the third or 4th time I've received bottles that had Roberto's sticker on them, all at a great discount. Works for me!!
