I can’t put finger on it other that is pretty damn good. I went in not expecting much but came out really liking this. Strong floral note...lovely tannins that was a little chewy but long lasting after the initial sip. Very fruity but on the edge of sweetness. Just overall well structured and ready to open, decant, and enjoy.

2014 Italian Wine Tasting Event (Allesia's Ristorante Italiano - Mesa, AZ): A very nice Super Tuscan with some age on it already. Very similar profile to the Crognolo label from the same producer and vintage year (see my previous tasting note)... but this added a big, elegant mouth-feel. I am sure the five years of bottle age has contributed to the elegance of the wine. This is fruit-forward with good structure and decent balance. Will age well and improve. Black cherry, dark chocolate, a good finish... all the components of a solid Super Tuscan. This tasting showed the retail at $50/btl. Decent QPR for a bottle-aged Super Tuscan for people who aren't willing to hold and wait.

Young but really well made. Lots of fruit, soft tannins, and absolutely great after a 3 hour decant. Directly from bottle it seemed too powerful and unbalanced but give it somoe time and pleasure will come.

Best of the three vintages we tried this night - the others being '07 and '08. The others were good but I thing reverse chronological is the ranking.
