LI Pot Luck Blind (Kitchen á Bistro - St James): Despite an obvious lack of acidity, this managed to be refreshing. Excellent balance and purity of fruit. Not overwhelmingly sweet but the relatively low alcohol is welcome after dinner.

Medium amber. Very beautiful and intense nose of botrytis and apricot, nectarine, raisins, honey and pollen. Palate lets you down somewhat after such an interesting nose, is lacking some acidity. Yet it is complex, evolved with flavours of raisin, honey and walnuts. Much less cloying that most of the Sauternes – and very much different in style.

(Oinofiloi - Rhone Whites). This was my first taste of a sweet Viognier. Clear deep gold amber. Clean, full intensity. Fruity: apricot compote, pergamon, candied orange peel. Some mushroomy botrytis edges, sweet roses & nutty. Full body on palate, intense fruit of apricots, raisins in lemon juice, honeyed edge, surprisingly light (13.5% abv). The palate is what the Greeks call "playful". A lovely contrast of nose & palate. Very good.

(Domaine Yves Cuilleron Condrieu Ayguets) Medium orange color with .5 millimeter clear meniscus and orange lights; baked apricot, apricot danish nose; tangy, dried apricot, lemon preserves, orange marmalade palate with near medium acidity; medium-plus finish

Rhone Dinner at Frank Murray's with Jim & Gloria Mack: Caramel color, strange at such a young age. Toffee nose, tangerines, sweet stone fruits. A bit cloying.

unusual wine with a grand marnier/marmalade, apricot thing going on. a little flabby, and lacking good botrytis; too sweet.
