Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2015-08; Northern Rhône (@ PD): The bouquet is still youthful with cherries and red berries, lactic and primary. There are some minerals and leather as well. On the palate dark berries and cherries, leather and salty licorice. Firm acidity and tannin which is slightly drying. Not extremely refined, but certainly ok and no problem to wait for a few more years.

Revisiting this wine after about a year. Has a nice white pepper edge to it, along with red stewed fruits, some herbs and a lovely mouthfeel. Bit one dimensional but fine resolved tannins are a plus, definitely better after some more time in the cellar. Will probably go another 2-3 years, but good now, especially for the money.

Rather cloudy in appearance, this Northen Rhone red has interesting aromas of white pepper, spice and stewed red plum. The taste is not as exciting, with under ripe green notes that tend to overpower anything else. Finishes rather short and thin. Wasn't overly impressed.

Floral and peppery. Medium bodied and easy drinking, albeit one dimensional. Good QPR at ~$20
